Here's
how the technology breaks down: Wood cannot be heated as much
as other substrates, which until now made the application
of traditional powder coatings to wood impractical. The advent
of lower temperature and UV curable powder coatings has revitalized
interest in powder coating wood.
But powder coaters found that wood is temperamental and requires
more finesse than heating metal parts. Moisture content changes,
warping, and the way the grain behaves in machined areas all
make the proper processing of wood parts a challenge. The
search for an answer to these problems led to the COYOTE system.
Customers have chosen COYOTE
because it both heats the wood more quickly and evenly. Parts
which commonly required ten to eleven minutes in a traditional
oven can now be finished in three minutes. And complex three
dimensional parts, once hard to heat evenly because of their
shape are heated much more consistently.
